We’re Luke & Kelly Spencer and we are passionate about the art of woodworking and creating beautiful spaces that inspire rest and cultivate joy! We’ve lived in the historic arts district of Jackson, Ms. for 16 years, while lovingly restoring our 1939 cottage together inside and out. An endeavor that truly never ends :) but we’re both at our happiest when we’re creating and bringing projects to life!
~ Luke grew up working alongside his contractor dad, soaking up every ounce of knowledge about woodworking and life in general! Kelly’s first love and background is in interior design and renovation… along with a huge passion for gardening, animal rescue, and all things beach inspired :)
Luke was called to full time ministry 12 years ago, and also works as a campus pastor and former associate and youth pastor.~
After building our first humble swing bed for our own screened in porch years ago, we immediately felt compelled to share the experience. At the time, we’d hardly heard of swing beds and based on the reaction we’d get, most others hadn’t either!
We enjoyed and began using ours so much more than we could’ve imagined. We actually began living on our porch more than our living room! It’s hard to explain… but there’s just something magical and childlike about curling up in a hanging bed swing with your favorite book and some time on your hands. The instant vacation vibes and the feeling that you’re getting away with something are undeniable ;) Our’s quickly became a refuge of rest and peace for us. Our favorite spot to escape to and recharge.
God began to place a dream and a desire in our hearts to create beautiful, furniture quality swing beds for others. We design, custom build, install if you’d like and put our whole hearts into each one. One at a time, as if it were going to be our own, with attention to every detail. Our goal is to create high quality furniture pieces that will last a lifetime, with all the beauty and details you’d expect from indoor furniture. Swing beds are for the “relaxers” and those still aspiring to learn how ;) They’re for the readers, nappers, nature watchers and dreamers… all the day dreamers and the kids at heart! They’re for spending time with friends and family and tend to encourage real connection and conversation. They’re for giving yourself permission to do absolutely nothing, while investing in your well being and accomplishing a whole lot!
They have more of a '‘gliding’’ motion due to the four points they hang from, as well as their weight. At the same time, you can easily sway, glide and swing when you’re in the mood, which we highly recommend!
